Due process
There are all sorts of ways of making ceramic products, and there are all sorts of prices to reflect the differences in quality and durability.
Fine ceramics production requires experience, time and care. Today, it also involves a major investment in infrastructure, technology and research.
At Robert Gordon Australia, making pottery is more than a business. It's been in our family too long. We probably have mud in our blood.
We think of ceramics production as a process of excellence, and we believe we have done a lot to define that process. We do look outside for guidance when it is appropriate, for example in our adherence to British standards, the world's toughest, but generally out processes are built on knowledge and experience.
This forms the basis of our quality control principles and aims, of all our operational procedures, and of our maintenance and systems for machinery such as ram presses, semi-automatic casting machines and high-firing, programmable kilns.
Taking due care of all those details puts us in an objective position of strength in terms of research. We have expended considerable energy and time over the years on research, with a particular focus on the maintenance of colour strength and brightness during the extremely high temperatures experienced in the firing process.
At Robert Gordon Australia, we take care of our processes so that they can take care of the things we make for you.
